Pulsar is conducting testing in September 2021of its 20,000 pounds-force (90 kN) methane/liquid oxygen rocket engine that the company is developing for VTOL applications. Advanced manufacturing techniques will permit the engine to be used to provide a lower-cost reusable launch service for its own orbital demonstrations and as a contractor to the growing smallsat launch market. This prototype engine is made of aluminium and can provide additional force when operated in a vacuum.
